Arabic Gum
Arabic Gum is a natural exudate gum, also known as Acacia gum is a composite mixture of polysaccharides and glycoprotein that is mainly used as stabilizer in the food industry. Arabic gum is a product of the two species of acacia trees, Acacia Senegal and Acacia Seyal.
Sudan is greatest producer of Arabic gum, with more than 75% of the Senegalese grade supply which is the best quality.
The acacia tree is found in dry regions of the country such as Darfur andKordofan.

Chickpeas
The chickpeas or chick pea (Cicer arietinum) is a legume of the family Fabaceae, subfamily Faboideae. It is also known as
gram or Bengal gram, and known as chana, or Kabuli chana (particularly in northern India). Its seeds are high in protein.
It is one of the earliest cultivatedlegumes.
Chickpeas are a nutrient-dense food, providing rich content (20% or higher of the Daily Value, DV) of protein, dietary fibre,
folate, and certain dietary minerals such as iron and phosphorus. Thiamin, vitamin B6, magnesium, and zinc contents are
moderate, providing 10-16% of the DV. Chickpeas have a Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score of about 0.76,
which is higher than many other legumes and cereals.

Hibiscus Flower
Also known in Sudan as Karkade, hibiscus flower grown in considered one of the best among the world. Most of the hibiscus farming takes place in Kordofan and Darfur. There are three types of hibiscus available which are dry flower, sifting
and powder.

Watermelon seeds
Watermelon seeds are one of the common protein supplements like cotton seeds, groundnut seeds, soybean seeds and
rape seeds. Watermelon seeds are cultivated in large quantities in western Sudan.
They could be used as a non-conventional animal feed because the availability, low cost and non human feed.
Watermelon cake is good source of protein for animal and it is comparable to cotton cake, linseeds cake and neem seeds
cake.

Sesame Seeds
Sesame is an ancient oil crop supplying seed for confectionary purpose and edible oil, paste (Tahina) cake and flour.
Sesame has important agricultural attributes. It is adapted to tropical and temperate conditions, grows well on stored soil
moisture with minimal irrigation or rainfall and can produce good yield under high temperature.
Sudan produces a large percentage of the world total annual exports. Sesame in the Sudan is raise almost entirely under
rain fed conditions, mainly in the South-ern Kordofan , Kasala , white and blue Nile states.

Pigeon Pea
The pigeon pea is a perennial legume from the family Fabaceae. Its cultivation can be tracked back more than 3,500 years.
Also known as Adaseya or Lubiya in Sudan. The crop can maintain growth with poor soils and little water.
